about the author

Mack Pinchot Ransom is an author, artist, and lifelong adventurer. Raised in 1950s Puerto Rico when it was still a third-world island, he spent his boyhood sailing to uninhabited cays with turquoise waters and white sand beaches—sparking a passion for the sea that still defines him today.

Over the decades, Mack has lived many lives: jeweler, sculptor, house flipper, commercial salmon fisherman, homesteader, chocolatier, and mortgage broker. Now retired, he resides near Seattle with a water view and a beloved cabin cruiser he pilots several times a week.

He brings a rich and unconventional life to his writing—infusing it with wonder, grit, and a reverence for both the natural and the mysterious.

✨ About the Book

The spark for Nefertiti’s Last Tear came in 2000 while watching a National Geographic documentary. One striking woman—driving across the Sahara in a Beirut to Beijing 1930's expedition—looked so out of place, Mack imagined she had arrived there through time. That idea grew into a tale of Nefertiti, magic runes, and eventually, aliens and existential questions about humanity’s future.

He wrote off and on for years, but it wasn’t until retirement that he had the time—and perspective—to finish the novel. Nefertiti’s Last Tear blends ancient mystery, interstellar myth, and deep human emotion into a sweeping cinematic adventure.
